She further explained that at the Russian ladies socials the tall, ball headed guy approached her. He was very enthusiastic and polite and she was glad to meet somebody who was really interested in her. She decided that Teddy was not coming. As they were leaving Teddy found them in the lobby. Natasha's mum said that Teddy had been rude and after all these events Natasha said that she would never go to the socials again. It is a pity that the behavior of one man can poison a lady toward all men at the Russian ladies socials. Natasha's mum also said that she could not believe that her daughter was popular among the American men because in their small town she was considered average looking at best.

I called Teddy and explained the situation. He could not believe it. It was true, he had not looked outside the hotel and Natasha whose English was poor did not understand where to wait. "Damn this electronic translator!" He had waited in the lobby and she outside near another entrance. Teddy asked me to call Natasha and apologize and to invite her and her mum to dinner to let them know how serious he was. Later in the day I reached Natasha by phone and we had a long conversation. She was really in shock and said that she had really liked Teddy but now was very disappointed in his behavior and did not want to see him again or attend another social.
