How unpredictable life is. Destiny often plays its games. I was Steve's interpreter at a Russian Ladies match making reception in Moscow, April 2007. He was the last man to enter the reception hall and immediately informed me that he was not interested to meet any of the Russian ladies there. He had been corresponding with Julia and had already made his choice. Steve was 47 years old, tall and charming. He had not dated for two years because he considered American women too materialistic and not family oriented. He lovingly showed me a few photos of Julia, a lovely piano teacher, 30 years old, with an 8 year-old son. By phone she had let him listen to her play the piano and he was enchanted.

Of course, it was impossible, just to sit and watch. There were so many pretty Russian ladies looking Steve's way. He told me that he had never seen so many ladies at one place. "It is difficult to believe that they are not married. Maybe Russian men are blind?" He laughed. He finally gave in to temptation and decided to speak with one of the ladies. He said that it had been recommended to him not to waste opportunities, because who knows if it will work out with Julia or not.
